It seems rather speculative that Agnes Blewett (Edwards) was a mistress to Henry the VIII, by all accounts.
- The Wikipedia page previously sourced in this article claims that Richard Edwards is the son of Agnes. But the source listed to prove that Agnes is the mother (or that she existed) does not mention Agnes at all: Wikipedia: Richard Edwardes. The Edwards Family website has no sources at all and is not an appropriate source for a pre profile: The Edwards Family website with discussion of the rumored connection to King Henry VIII. The other source listed, the tudorhistory blog page is merely a question and answer forum wherein people ask questions about this family line. Many wild claims are made on this page but none appear to be sourced: "Tudor History question and answer forum with details of Agnes's life and family." The previously mentioned book that does not contain a reference to Agnes (was used as the Wikipedia source) is also listed

Disputed Origins
The father William Edwards is believed by many to be the non-biological father. William Edwards is highly believed not to be the father.
Rumor has long had it that Agnes Blewitt was a mistress of Henry VIII and had a son Richard by him.
No proof of the rumors exists. FMG does not list Agnes as a mistress, and the fairly recent book by Kelly Hart, The Mistresses of Henry VIII () says that it is unlikely.
We need DNA with Henry VIII and a descendant of Richard. Henry VIII lineage needs to be included for Richard.
Following Wikitree guidelines, therefore, we have detached Richard as a son of Henry.
