Roberto Sánchez, mejor conocido como Sandro, también llamado Sandro de América, es un baladista de pop argentino, nacido el día 19 de Agosto de en Guaymallén, Provincia de Mendoza, Buenos Aires.
Pocas estrellas latinoamericanas han logrado tanto fanatismo como Sandro; con su actitud e imagen inicial de rockero, al mejor estilo de Elvis Presley, Sandro conquistó definitivamente al público incursionando en el mundo del bolero, convirtiéndose y manteniéndose al final de su carrera artística bajo la figura de showman.
Niñez, Juventud y Vida Familiar
Sandro creció en el los alrededores de la zona industrial de la capital argentina. Fue hijo único. Por temas legales no pudo ser presentado por sus padres bajo el nombre Sandro, en el Registro Civil, y éstos optaron por llamarlo Roberto.
Estudió primaria en la Escuela República de Brasil. Desde muy temprana edad, mostró ciertos rasgos que evidenciaban un talento y futura gran pasión por la música. Al igual que muchos adolescentes en Argentina, se sintió atraído por la música y puesta en escena del cantante Elvis Presley, comenzándolo a imitar durante su pubertad.

Roberto Sánchez (born August 19, ), better known by his artist names Sandro/Sandro de América ("Sandro of America" in Spanish) or Gitano is an ArgentineRomani singer and actor.

Biography
He learned to play the guitar from childhood, identifying his music as Romani. His paternal grandfather was Russian Rom - Roma are known in Argentina as Gitanos. Considered as a precursor of Rock music in Spanish, initially he imitated Elvis Presley, afterwards creating a personal style that marked his career. He created the musical group Sandro & los de Fuego, which gained popularity in the TV showSábados Circulares. He became well-known in the decades with songs like Trigal, Tengo, ¿A esto le llamas amor?, Eres el demonio disfrazado, Porque yo te amo and Rosa, Rosa.
Sandro played also in various films, among others: Quiero Llenarme de Ti ("I Want to fill myself with you") and telenovelas, among others: Fue sin Querer ("It wasn't on purpose"), with Puerto Rican actress: Gladys Rodríguez. He was the first Latino singer who filled Madison Squa
Roberto Sánchez nació a las tres y veinte de la mañana del domingo 19 de agosto de en la Maternidad Sardá, en el barrio porteño de Parque Patricios.
Sandro probablemente mucho antes del 9 de julio de , día de su debut en el salón La Polonesa, de Valentín Alsina. En aquel acto escolar, organizado para celebrar la Independencia Argentina, imitó a Elvis Presley. A los doce años, con sus patillas pintadas al corcho, el jopo engominado y un pulóver prestado actuó cantando con el play back de “Hotel de los corazones destrozados”, pero el disco de pasta se rompió y, sin más experiencia que su intuición, cantó a capela. Aunque no lo supiera, Sandro ya estaba ahí.
Su nombre artístico llegó con él. Hijo único de Irma Nidia Ocampo y de Vicente Sánchez,se llamó Roberto, igual que el hermano de Vicente y que Roberto Escalada, el galán de moda, porque el Registro Civil consideró que Sandro era un nombre extranjerizante.
Y en verdad lo era, ya que proviene del gitano Sandor (en romaní se pronuncia Sandro). El origen de la elección está en el árbol genealógico paterno. Papadópolus, el apellido de su bisabuelo y de su abuelo, gitanos de ascendencia griega nacidos en Hungría, se convirtió en R

Sandro de America, whose real name was Roberto Julio Sánchez, was an Argentine singer and actor. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in From a young age, Sandro showed a talent for music and began composing poems.
