George Boole (2 de noviembre de &#; 8 de diciembre de ) matemático y creador de un nuevo sistema de cálculo lógico: Álgebra de Boole. Nació en Lincoln, Reino Unido. Estudió en una escuela privada. Su padre, John Boole, fue un comerciante que no tenía suerte para los negocios. En sus tiempos libres le enseñaba a su hijo matemáticas y lógica. Pero, en un principio parecía que George no tuviera talento en esta rama sino por el de las humanidades y el lenguaje; aprendió varias lenguas que le permitieron leer una gran variedad de textos de teología cristiana. George Boole tuvo que desistir de su propósito de hacerse monje porque tuvo que asumir el cuidado de sus padres.
Posteriormente, descubrió que tenía gran talento para las matemáticas. Su mente curiosa le llevó a comparar la trinidad cristiana con las tres dimensiones del espacio, también demostró una atracción por el concepto hebreo de Dios como una unidad absoluta.
