Early Life and Passion for Music

Martijn Garritsen, known by his stage name Martin Garrix, was born on May 14, , in Amstelveen, Netherlands. He developed a passion for music at the young age of four when he started learning the guitar. By the age of eight, Garrix became interested in the DJ culture after witnessing Tiesto's performance at the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Athens. Inspired by Tiesto's track "Traffic," Martin downloaded special software and began composing his own music. He recently graduated from the Herman Brood Academy in Utrecht, a renowned producer school.

Under various aliases, Martin Garrix wrote tracks for other artists, but only one out of his fifty compositions gained public attention. Martijn Gerard Garritsen is a Dutch musician, record producer, and DJ whose music is classified as &#;progressive house,&#; &#;electro house,&#; &#;large room house,&#; and &#;future bass.&#; Martin Garrix (stylized form Mar+in Garri) and GRX are his stage names. Garritsen began playing guitar at the age of eight.
