The property is located in Collebaccaro, a small hamlet in the Municipality of Contigliano, not far from the entrance of the Canera Valley. The origins of the large property can be traced back to the donation of a country cottage the artist received from his father in the first half of the 18th century, which already belonged to the noble Sanizi family. Italian opera singer (baritone) Battistini (Battistini) Mattia was born on February 27, , in Rome, and died on November 7, , in Contigliano (Rieti). He was an Italian opera artist (baritone). After completing his medical studies at the University of Rome, he devoted himself entirely to vocal art. He studied singing with E. Terciani and V. Persichini. In , he made his debut in Rome in the role of Alfonso ("La favorita" by Donizetti). He performed in various theaters in Italy and toured in Russia (for the first time in ), England, France, Germany, Austria, Argentina, Brazil, and other countries. During his many performances in Russia, among other roles, he performed the roles of Onegin, Demon, and Ruslan ("Eugene Onegin" by Tchaikovsky, "The Demon" by Rubinstein, "Ruslan and Lyudmila" by Glinka).
